Deep biodiversity policy
Introduction
The terms environmental conservation, conservation of species, conservation of nature and protection of nature are some of the names by which the common objective of the different forms of preservation of nature, the environment or, above all, some of its parts is known: the flora and fauna, the different species, the different ecosystems, landscape values, among others.
Environmental conservation is a necessity
Environmental conservation is a necessity given the number of environmental problems that are affecting the health of all humanity. And consequently the destruction of the only home like the planet. This conservation of the environment and all its natural resources must be deeper and truer to try to minimize the damage caused by man and seek to awaken that humanistic consciousness that allows environmental conservation measures to be put into practice for sustainable development that satisfies present needs without compromising those of future generations. That is why social movements have been created for conservation.
Conservationism
The name conservationism refers to the social movement that proposes this conservation. One of its aspects is the environmental movement.[1].
Conservationism and environmentalism
Debates between conservationists and ecologists date back to the beginning of the 20th century.[2].
Conservationists, led by U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt and his close ally Gifford Pinchot, noted that most natural resources in Western countries should belong to the federal government and that the best course of action, they argued, was a long-term plan devised by national experts to maximize the long-term economic benefits of natural resources.[3].
Environmentalists, on the other hand, led by John Muir (1838–1914), who was also responsible for defining the environmentalist position in the debate between conservationism and environmentalism, preached that nature was sacred and that humans would be intruders. In this sense, for this aspect, humans could look at but not exploit nature.
