Decorative Rugs
Introduction
Carpet is the term designated to any fabric made on a loom, whether in silk, wool, thread or fiber, with the purpose of covering part of the floor of a room. The DRAE defines carpet as "A fabric of wool or other materials, and of various designs and colors, with which the floors of rooms and stairs are covered for shelter and decoration."
The Crusades introduced Turkish rugs to Europe where they were mainly hung on walls as tapestries or used on tables. Only after the opening of trade routes in the century did Persian carpets arrive. Its use in Western homes as a floor covering did not become popular until the 19th century. Also featured as a folder. Example, “Laura wants a folder.”

Rugs of nomadic origin
Nomadic tribes use small portable looms for their creations, which are not usually large in size. Generally, these rugs have developed geometric systems, with vertical and horizontal lines. They can also represent floral themes, animals, stars, etc. The material used can be wool, camel hair and silk.
Carpets of sedentary origin
Unlike nomadic rugs, rugs made in cities or small towns are made with much larger looms, resulting in a much larger size. They tend to be much more stylized and represent more repetitive geometric models that are much closer to an orderly approach and following a previously prepared drawing pattern. This type of carpet can reach 12 meters in length, using wool, silk, gold and silver threads as material.
