Connector caps
Introduction
The network termination point, better known by its acronym PTR, is a box of about 5 x 7 cm that is located in the subscriber's home and separates the subscriber's internal network and the external cable. It is considered part of the telephone operator's network, and it is from there that the subscriber's ownership begins.
It has a cover that, when opened, reveals an RJ11 connector into which a telephone terminal can be connected, while disconnecting the interior installation. It is used to determine whether a line fault is located in the interior installation (owned by the customer) or in the exterior connection (owned by the telephone company).
It is the substitute for the network connection point or PCR, and the notable difference for the user is that the PTR does not cause problems with ADSL services since it does not have the remote diagnostic device that causes the problems.
