Conditioning and Packaging
Introduction
Packaging is a container or wrapper that temporarily contains products, mainly to group units of a product for handling, transportation and storage.
Other functions of packaging are: protecting the contents, facilitating handling, informing about its handling conditions, legal requirements, composition, ingredients, etc. Within the commercial establishment, the type of packaging can be useful when selling merchandise thanks to its graphic and structural design.
Container and packaging
The difference is established between:
- Packaging: is the wrapping that protects, supports and preserves the merchandise; is in direct contact with the product, it can be rigid such as boxes, bottles, jars, blister packs, or flexible such as bags, sachets, pouches and envelopes.
- Secondary packaging: these are usually boxes made of various materials, packaging corrugated cardboard boxes of various models and very resistant.
- Tertiary packaging: it is intended to support large quantities of secondary packaging, so that these are not damaged or deteriorated in the transportation and storage process between the factory and the final consumer.
