CO2 controlled ventilation system
Introduction
The CO2 Alert project[1] is carried out in the towns of Puerto de Naos (municipality of Los Llanos de Aridane) and La Bombilla (Tazacorte), both on the Island of La Palma, to achieve habitability[2] through the degassing process[3] of the gases from the 2021 La Palma volcanic eruption that occurred with the Tajogaite Volcano.
Project
The project
[4] It was financed[5] by the Government of Spain with 4 (3+1) [6][7] million euros and by the Cabildo of La Palma. And it was a product[8] of the meetings proposed by Héctor Izquierdo (Special Commissioner for the Reconstruction of the island of La Palma) in June 2022 at the facilities of the Roque de Los Muchachos Observatory [9] chaired by Félix Bolaños Ministry of the Presidency (Spain) "Ministry of the Presidency (Spain)") of the Government of Spain attended by those responsible for the scientific centers, organizations and institutes and centers specialized sea, sky and land and universities: National Geographic Institute (Spain) "National Geographic Institute (Spain)") (IGN), Volcanological Institute of the Canary Islands (INVOLCAN), Geological and Mining Institute of Spain (IGME), Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO), Canary Islands Ocean Platform (PLOCAN), State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), Astrophysical Institute of the Canary Islands (IAC), University of La Laguna (ULL) and University of Las Palmas (ULPG). Which gave rise to work between Héctor Izquierdo (Special Commissioner for the Reconstruction of the island of La Palma), Carmen López Moreno (Director of the National Geographic Institute (Spain) "Instituto Geográfico Nacional (España)") (IGN)) and Nemesio Pérez (Director of the Volcanological Institute of the Canary Islands (INVOLCAN)), as well as in the weekly meetings of the Insular Territorial Plan for Civil Protection (PEINPAL).
Months later, they were added in meetings also coordinated by the Special Commissioner for the Reconstruction of the island of La Palma and held
[10] in June 2023 at the La Moncloa Palace Complex, the Island Council of La Palma, the Eduardo Torroja Institute of Construction Sciences (ICCET) and the Center for Studies and Experimentation of Public Works (CEDEX) and later after the 2023 Spanish regional elections with Héctor Izquierdo, Carmen López Moreno, Nemesio Pérez and Sergio Rodríguez Fernández President of the Island Council of La Palma.
