Introduction
The Plaza Cívica Primera Congreso de Anáhuac or Plaza Cívica de Chilpancingo, is the main square of Chilpancingo de los Bravo, located in the historic center of the city, it was founded on September 13, 1985.[1].
Description
With a neoclassical style, the Plaza Cívica houses the "Ignacio Manuel Altamirano" Palace of Culture, the Metropolitan Cathedral of Santa María de la Asunción, the building that occupies the Municipal Palace, the Regional Museum of Guerrero and the Superior Court of Justice. There is also a garden (in its northern part) and a pink quarry kiosk (in the center).
History
It was inaugurated on September 13, 1985, by the then governor Alejandro Cervantes Delgado, it was called that, because the First Congress of Anáhuac was held in this place, on September 13, 1813.
During the years of 1964 and 1969, the remodeling of the civic plaza was completed, several surrounding avenues were paved, in addition to the construction of the new Superior Court of Justice building and the reconstruction of the José María Morelos y Pavón Primary School.
