Building hygrothermal control
Introduction
The architectural project of a building, whatever the scale, destination or intended use, generally includes a set of formal, spatial, functional and constructive characteristics that are specific to it, and that initially allow the intellectual work to be realized. In this primary phase the project is a set of graphic, written documentation that describes the "form" of the building, although not its operation.
Given that said building project can be implemented in any location or climate and it is necessary to maintain hygrothermal comfort conditions inside in order to make it habitable, then Thermomechanical Installations - IT intervene.
These IT belong to the technological systems inherent to the building project, being the greater or lesser complexity of the internal service infrastructure networks (commonly the facilities), depending on the degree of complexity of the architectural program.
Facility components
It is common, and almost essential, to talk today about the importance of air conditioning, lighting, energy distribution installations, security, fire protection, communication and data transmission and computing networks that range from a server to networked equipment sometimes grouped in predetermined spaces for computer centers. This falls within home automation or building automation, better known as smart buildings.
The choice of equipment in relation to comfort
The air conditioning of a building with current technology proposes various systems and equipment that, properly chosen, can provide high degrees of comfort simultaneously compatible with significant energy savings. This leads to its diffusion and massification, generating a different way of living and inhabiting these areas.
Nowadays, a living or working space cannot be conceived without an adequate level of air conditioning, which is not only the traditional "air conditioning and/or heating", as it is generally understood, but has more to do with adequate temperature levels, ventilation flow ("Ventilation (architecture)"), air filtration"), humidification") or dehumidification") of the same, and the possibility of modifying the parameters throughout the day due to the consequent daily variation of external loads according to the different orientations of the building. Also according to the climatic season of the year, in order to obtain the appropriate environmental conditions, always in pursuit of building energy efficiency), using only the minimum energy necessary to fulfill the purpose of the IT.
