Bio-Architecture
Introduction
Bioarchitecture is an interdisciplinary field of study between architecture and ecology as well as an architectural style inspired by sustainability that consists of creating buildings that follow sustainable architecture in which the health of the people who use them is ensured and the environmental impact of these architectural complexes is reduced, taking into account various factors such as location, materials and design, among others.[1].
One of the most important concepts taken into account in this discipline are the climate and environment of the site, since through it an ecological balance is obtained between environmental and human factors, implementing the principle of energy efficiency for this purpose. Likewise, bioconstruction acts in order to obtain a healthy indoor environment without disturbances or pollutants that could be emitted into the atmosphere.
The location of the home is another of the keys on which bioarchitecture is based. In this sense, the location of the property is important to achieve the reduction of its energy consumption, the minimization of waste and the reduction of its ecological footprint. Likewise, selecting a good location, away from polluting elements, also promotes people's health. Bioarchitecture also stands out for making use of healthy, non-toxic construction materials in its projects.
This is how bioarchitecture includes the efficient and intelligent use of the natural resources of the place to take advantage of what nature offers in the best possible way and thus generate a lower impact on the environment, while seeking a sustainable and environmentally friendly lifestyle.[2].
