Introduction
Instructional texts are intended to direct the reader's actions. They show steps to follow, materials and, as their name says: they instruct in some activity. They are generally applied to solve everyday life problems, for example: how to use a television, assemble a toy, cook some food, install an application on a device, paint a room, draw, embroider, etc.
The instructional text usually describes the list of elements necessary to perform the correct task and of course the steps to follow in the procedure. Some very common examples are: cooking recipes, how to use a certain product (a lamp, for example), clothing knitting guides with certain techniques, furniture construction manuals by pieces.
Function
The function of the instructional texts is to guide the procedures in a detailed, clear and precise manner to carry out an object such as, for example, a gastronomic dish, a tourist route, etc.
Structure
The structure of this type of text is as follows:
