Political protest architecture

They propose a reflection on a political reality. This may be the consequence of a crisis or a specific phenomenon, for which they study possible solutions that improve the situation or make it more visible to the media. It can also be an investigation into an established political system in which new ways of interpreting it and taking advantage of its advantages are proposed, while trying to facilitate its understanding.

Project to bring to the world the state of devastation in which the community finds itself after the passage of Hurricane Katrina. It is based on the use of a very clear identifying feature, the color pink, creating a temporary city of tents with a program of events that attracts the press.[5]​.

Sami Rintala together with Marco Casagrande revealed with this installation the progressive abandonment that the Finnish countryside is suffering, raising some abandoned barns on legs so that they can follow their owners to the city.[6]​.

His research and architectural experiments demonstrate that the city and its spaces have absorbed the domestic functions of the house, and that, on the contrary, the house has been transformed into a politicized space where debates occur. By introducing the small creatures from the famous video game in unexpected corners of the urban space and then locating them on an interactive map, they demand the removal of works of art from museums and citizen participation, thanks to which these small figures are taken to all parts of the world.[10]​.

This mobile prototype allows us to “democratize water” by filtering and purifying 3,000 gallons of water, passing it through different ecosystems through a system of pipes that exposes the process and opens discussion on the topic. At the same time, a climatically comfortable space is generated like a garden, which attracts people to celebrate parties under it.[14]​.

This prototype makes the functions of a tree in the city visible while requiring the participation of citizens for its activation, through physical exercise. It is based on mutual care between the urban tree and the citizen.[15]​.
