Introduction
The Architects of Emergency Foundation is a French non-governmental organization whose objective is to offer help and technical assistance to victims of natural, technological or human disasters.
History
Architects of the Emergency is an organization that was founded in April 2001, after the floods in the Somme and the Oise (departments of the French region Picardie). It acquired the status of Foundation, given its public utility in France, and has national sections in Australia and Canada.
The objectives of the Architects of Emergency Foundation are the following:
Architects of the Emergency currently directs 9 programs in the following countries: Afghanistan, Solomon Islands, Indonesia, Lebanon, Pakistan, Peru, Sri Lanka, Chad within the framework of emergency or development actions in favor of disadvantaged populations.
533 people, from 19 different nationalities, work for the organization to ensure that they fulfill their missions. In total, more than 1,200 architects and engineers have participated in the works of Emergency Architects in 21 countries.
