Alamillo Bridge
Introduction
A counterweight pylon cable-stayed bridge is a variation of the asymmetrical cable-stayed bridge, in which the pylon acts as a counterweight to the bridge. The bridge stays coming out of the platform go to the pylon, and instead of continuing to a counterweight, they are attached to the pylon itself. The pylon compensates for the traction of the cables by its own weight and the anchoring of the ground, instead of having a cable or other pylon attached to the back to transmit the force to the ground counterweight. This bridge design was initiated by Santiago Calatrava.[1].
These bridges are more expensive than a normal asymmetrical cable-stayed bridge, and their choice is mainly for artistic reasons.
Examples of this type of bridges:

• - Trinity Bridge (1995), Manchester, United Kingdom (rear counterweight).
