Agricultural architecture
Introduction
Rural constructions are buildings that are built in rural areas. It can be understood in two very different ways:
Traditional rural construction
It is usually the result of the self-construction of the rural habitat by the peasant community itself. It is characterized by using local resources as construction materials and responding to the natural limitations of the environment in which it is included (climate, vegetation), to the direct needs of its activity (agricultural uses) and of the family that builds it, without ever considering it finished, as it grows with it.[1].
Rural construction in agricultural engineering
Contenido
Costs
Its objective is to select the optimal conditions in terms of expenses and investments required for a given installation, in this case the Agricultural Engineer must strive as far as possible to work with materials of the best quality and under favorable conditions at reasonable costs and that offer a satisfactory profit margin and increased productivity for those who make use of the work carried out by the Agricultural Engineer.
Structural, seismic and topographic design and analysis
The Agricultural Engineer, using the fundamental concepts of structural analysis, structural design, topography and geotechnics, is able to design infrastructure works at a rural level, taking into account the use that will be given to the facility as well as the shape and composition of the terrain and its historical natural phenomena to adapt the best solution in the different situations in which it is required to build a structure by the Agricultural Engineer; Of course, under the strictest quality, construction and earthquake resistance standards of each competent body in the matter.
