Introduction
A mining job is any hole excavated to exploit a deposit. A mine "Mine (mining)") is the set of all these works, especially when it is underground. The technique of exploiting a deposit through mining is known as Mine Working.
The area of the work in which work is carried out for excavation is called front, cut or header.
Tasks that only have one entrance (for example, a gallery that is being advanced) are called bottom-of-sack tasks. Since there is no exit, it is necessary to force ventilation through a pipe to the front of the work.
Gallery
The most common job is the gallery. It is a horizontal excavation, or a slightly inclined one, in which one of the dimensions is much larger than the other two. It is similar to a road or railway tunnel. The galleries receive different names depending on their function or their position with respect to the rock to be exploited.
The top of a gallery is called crown, and the walls gables.
