Accent Lighting
Introduction
Accent lighting focuses light on a particular area or object. It is often used to highlight art or other artifacts.[1] Accent lighting is usually provided by adjustable fixtures such as spotlights, spotlights, or floor lights. Accent lighting can also be used in practical applications to illuminate stairs, such as in cinemas, or to illuminate hallways.
Some accent lights are not made to shine on a particular object, but are themselves a work of art with a self-contained light source. Often made with Tiffany glass,[2] these serve as a functional décor piece for a home.
Accent lights can also be used outdoors as path guides or to highlight garden art.[3].
